About Me
A 31 year old Long Island native, Matt Metz (AKA ‘MJ METZ’), is a film and music Composer/Producer. He started his career making music at the age of 13. His first placement was in 2010, when he produced a track called “Another Day” that featured in Pat “SoLo” Jamieson’s Mixtape called Dear Future. Matt later went to school for audio engineering at the “Recording Engineers Institute”, and shortly after Graduating in April of 2011, he signed with a label called Black & White Ent./ Fat Nappa Recordings. In 2013, Matt was signed on to compose music for movies and short films. Award winning director Steve Rahaman asked Matt to compose several soundtrack scores for his films “Hands That Hold Us” & “The Girl In The Back”. In March of 2013, he composed 2 more films later that year called “Pain: A Revenge Story” & “Torment”. Steve Rahaman ask him to officially join his production team at Rahaman Studios [US].
In early 2013, Matt linked up with a producer named 7th EMP, a producer who’s landed several TV placements as well as a spot on G-Units ‘Beg For Mercy’ Album. 7th helped Matt get his first TV placement on the Kardashians in early 2013 as well as ‘Bad Girls Club Miami’ and ‘The Real World EX-Plosion’ in early 2014. Matt has come a long way and is extremely dedicated to his craft. With a bright future ahead and many new fans, Matt will be a powerful force in the entertainment industry.
From 2015 to now, Matt has had over 1200 placements on television and has worked with new up & coming artists such as NXTMIKE, Jehry Robinson & Joey Cool of STRANGEMUSIC. He is now creating his own unique sounds by using a ZoomH6 Field recorder to capture sounds that hold a significant meaning to him.
